Reader Resource: If you struggle with "attracting" clients, this free blueprint shows a better way to generate them predictably.
Welcome back to another issue of Scalable Clients. Each issue is built to help you grow your client business with smart systems, AI leverage, and playbooks that actually work at scale.
Every Friday, we bring you one big idea to shift how you think about your business, the step-by-step playbook to implement it, tools we're actually using in the field, and a full operator's breakdown of the week (including the scoreboard and a day-by-day look at what drove the results)
If this was forwarded to you, you can subscribe for free and get it in your inbox every Friday » subscribe here.
NOTE: Obviously, today is actually Saturday. I didn’t have all the numbers needed for this week’s issue yesterday, so you’re getting it today. Back to the normal schedule next week.

In today's issue:
Why your best month and your worst month are separated by one thing you keep forgetting to send
The follow-up asset you can build this weekend that catches the leads slipping through the cracks
The exact line where AI helps your follow-up and the exact line where it kills the trust clients pay you for
The real numbers behind my week, including the row that finally moved
Lock in, because this one is packed with insights that will help you scale. But before we get into it, here's the scoreboard update.

| Newsletter subscribers | 5,469 |
| YouTube subscribers | 70 |
| Total Subscriptions | 5,539 |
| Leads Generated | 31 |
| Ad Revenue Generated | $10.12 |
| Affiliate Revenue Generated | $2020.77 |
| Sales Revenue Generated | $38,565.50 |
| Total Revenue | $40,596.39 |
Newsletter subscribers grew by 774 since last Friday. That’s an average of 110 new subscribers PER DAY, which is scaled back from the last week’s daily average of 291 new subs per day.
My subscriber growth machine is getting predictable, and as I mentioned last week, I did end up scaling it back slightly to maintain my high open rates.
The YouTube channel inched up by another 3 subscribers since last week, and last weeks video (What Happens To Your Revenue If You Take 2 Weeks Off) does NOT seem to be a ‘hit’ with the algorithm. Only 15 views after 3 days.
(sad face)
We also only generated 1 new lead into the funnel this week, and landed 0 additional booked calls. (not every week’s a winner)
But despite the slower than average week,
Total revenue still grew by $2,934.97 over the last 7 days. That came from a couple nice recurring bills from last month and an unexpected $1,647 affiliate commission.
All in all, I’m happy with the results so far, and will keep pushing.
If you want the SPECIFICS of exactly HOW I made this happen this week, be sure to read the ‘operators log’ below.
For now, let’s dig into this weeks big idea and playbook.
THE BIG IDEA
The Followup You Forgot is Leaking Your Best Month
The single most expensive thing in my old consulting business wasn't ad spend or bad hires. It was the follow-up I never sent. The proposal that sat unanswered. The "let me think about it" I never circled back on.
All of it was causing me to leak revenue.
For years, my follow-up "system" was just a sticky note and a guilty feeling.
A prospect said "let me think about it." I said "sounds good, I'll check in." Then a client fire pulled me under, a week vanished, and by the time I remembered, the moment was cold. Dead.
I told myself I was busy. The truth was uglier. I was the bottleneck, and the bottleneck forgot.
Here's the pattern almost every capped operator is stuck in, and it hides in plain sight because it looks like a memory problem …
Picture your pipeline as a pipe. Every trigger event is a joint: proposal sent, call held, client goes quiet mid-project. Every joint that depends on you remembering is a joint that leaks.
Proposal sent → (you forget) → cold.
Call held → (you get busy) → gone.
Here's the reframe: you probably don't have a memory problem. You most likely have a system problem.
The remembering, the tracking, the blank-page drafting - none of that requires your judgment. It requires a workflow that never gets busy.
AI's job in follow-up isn't to write the message. It's to catch the trigger, surface the context, and hand you a 30-second edit instead of a blank page.
Follow-up shouldn't live in your head. It should live in a workflow that never forgets.
The judgment stays yours. The remembering gets automated.
That's the playbook outlined below …
BUT FIRST A WORD FROM TODAY’S SPONSOR
Part of building in public means being honest about how this newsletter actually makes money, and sponsorships are one of those ways. They’re also one of the exact revenue streams we teach our own clients to build, so it’s only right that I use them myself and show you how it works.
I run Scalable Clients on Beehiiv, and one of the reasons is that they connect newsletters like this one with sponsors who pay to put their offer in front of you. Every time you read or click one of these, it helps fund the free work I send you each week.
Here’s my promise: I’ll only ever run a sponsor I genuinely believe is relevant and helpful to you as you grow and scale your client business. If it can’t earn its place, it doesn’t go in. With that said, here’s today’s sponsor. It’s an advertising strategy that I haven’t personally tried, but it’s DIFFERENT, and ‘different’ can sometimes produce results far and away better than the common channels.

THE PLAYBOOK
Build Your Triggered Followup System
One rule: AI drafts, you approve. Never let a bot reply to a client's actual reply. That's where the intimacy dies.
Here's the weekend build. One asset: a triggered follow-up system that watches for the joints that always leak, drafts a human-sounding nudge, and hands it to you for a sub-minute edit before it sends.
1/ Name your three leak points.
Write down the exact trigger events where warm leads and quiet clients go cold. Proposal sent + no reply in 3 days. Discovery call held + no decision in 5 days. Client silent mid-engagement for 7 days.
Why it matters: you can't automate a follow-up you haven't defined. Specifics sound like the truth.
2/ Write your voice, once.
For each trigger, draft ONE short follow-up in your own words. Warm, specific, no pressure. This is the template AI riffs off.
Why it matters: the voice is the asset. AI copies your tone, it doesn't invent one.
3/ Wire the trigger.
In your CRM (or a Claude + automation setup), set the trigger to fire, pull the context (name, what was discussed, what's outstanding), and generate a draft.
Why it matters: the machine does the remembering and the blank-page work. You do zero.
4/ Insert the approval gate. (The tradeoff.)
Every draft lands in YOUR queue, not the client's inbox. You read it, edit for voice in under a minute, then send.
Why it matters: pure autopilot is faster and colder.
Two-thirds of people still prefer a human. The 30-second gate costs you almost nothing and protects the trust they pay a premium for.
5/ Track what converts.
Log which follow-up template wins, and refine the voice line quarterly.
Why it matters: the asset gets sharper while you do less.
Run the math.
Say 5 warm leads a month currently go cold because you forgot. Even ONE converting at a $2,000 engagement is $24,000 a year you were leaving in your head. The follow-up doesn't cost you time. Forgetting it costs you a great month.
AI carries the follow-up. You still sign it. That's the multiplier.
TOOLS I ACTUALLY USE
Two tools that make the weekend build faster:
Claude - drafts the follow-up from your trigger context and voice template, so you're editing a near-finished message instead of staring at a blank reply box. I use it daily. It clears the room; your judgment stays in the chair.
Your CRM's automation layer (whatever you already run) - this is the part that watches the triggers and never forgets. Named by its job: the memory that doesn't get busy. If it can fire a webhook or a Zap into Claude, you're set.
You don't need a new platform. You need to connect the two you likely already have. Use what fits you, skip what doesn't. You don't need both this weekend.
THIS WEEK ON THE CHANNEL

In this week’s video, I walk you through why hustle is the single most expensive input inside a client business, and how to run one simple test that tells you whether you've built a real business or just an expensive job.
I spent 17 years in direct response marketing believing output was everything, until I realized I'd built a business that couldn't run without me. If you're booked out and still not free, this one is for you.

Next week’s video get’s REAL: I spent a year convinced my delivery problems were an operations problem, so I built the SOPs, the tools, the beautiful Notion dashboard, and the chaos only got worse.
So I traced the real source back to the sales call, and show you why you can't systemize your way out of a bad promise.
Subscribe while you're there so you catch it.
THE CLIENT SOLUTION
Your follow-up system is one leak. Your whole client-attraction engine is the pipe. The Strategic Newsletter OS is how you build authority that qualifies people BEFORE they ever hit your follow-up queue, so the leads you're chasing start chasing you instead.
THE OPERATOR’S LOG
Here's the day-by-day actions from this week:
Monday: I spent the first half of the day planning out the week, and the 2nd half of the day was spent working inside of NicheWire Studio, scripting out the next 6-weeks worth of YouTube videos.
Tuesday: I spent most of the day inside the actual studio, recording and editing all those videos that I scripted the day before.
Wednesday: The morning was spent working on the big community migration project. (we are moving everything from Circle into our own custom HUB). Then, I spent the afternoon on coaching calls, and helping clients grow their business.
Thursday: I spent the morning training a new team member that we just hired. She will be helping out with the delivery of the new DFY services we are offering.
Friday: Realized the entire community had to be moved over by end of day, so that consumed my entire day (and most of the night also) - That’s why this newsletter didn’t go out yesterday. I was locked in to meet the deadline.

My honest read so far about how things are going:
As mentioned in the scoreboard update, I’m happy with the newsletter subs, youtube subs, and revenue growth so far.
I mean what’s not to be happy about, really? $40k in 75 days is an average of $533 per day, and I know people that have been running newsletters for literally years and haven’t seen a daily average like that yet.
Brenda is still cranking on our new webinar that will sell our new DFY services to the functional medicine market. That’s why I took the lead on the big community migration project. My next big focus is getting everything moved into the new CRM. That may end up being a bigger chore than the community HUB was.
As I mentioned last week, this new market we are going into requires us to be fully HIPAA compliant, so we can no longer use our current CRM. It’s a big move, but it’s for the best.
Brenda is flying to Florida to be with one of our daughters having surgery next week on Wednesday. Then she flys to Dallas, and I’m driving from Arkansas to meet her there, because we are attending an event there on the 22nd.
As far as this newsletter goes, the open rates are still holding strong above 50%:

Here’s the growth chart for this brand so far: (I like what I’m seeing)

As mentioned previously, I started outlining a deep dive (4+ hour) video that breaks down every part of my newsletter system and shows you how to replicate it.
I’m treating it as if I’m going to be selling it for $10k … workbooks, resources, bits, and everything will be included.
I could easily launch this with partners and probably make $70k+ from selling it…but instead I’m just going to give it all away for free on my YouTube channel.
It should be ready in the next 2-3 weeks. If that’s not enough to earn you as a subscriber, I don’t know what is.
YOUR MOVE
Do This Today:
Open your CRM or your inbox.
Find the ONE warm lead or quiet client you've been meaning to follow up with and haven't. Write them a two-line, human note right now and send it.
That's your trigger point identified, live, in the real world.
Then hit reply and tell me this: which trigger leaks the most in your business - the unanswered proposal, the "let me think about it," or the client who went quiet mid-project? I read every reply, and I'm genuinely curious which joint is doing the most damage. Be honest.
Enjoy your weekend.
It’s over 100 degrees here in Arkansas, so family time will be spent indoors for the rest of the weekend. Last week’s ‘guitar wars’ event was fun, but very underwhelming, but the ‘advanced’ players didn’t seem that advanced to me…
Then again, I’ve never played the guitar that’s leaned up in the corner of the living room. It’s just a decoration at this point.
Talk soon,
Justin “staying cool” Glover
